MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon will continue to prevail over the eastern section of Luzon and Visayas with rain in several areas of the country, the state weather bureau said Friday.

Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao and the regions of Caraga and Davao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light rains. Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the eastern section of the country and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas, Pagasa said.

Strong to gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon may also affect the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Visayas.

Pagasa said fishing boats and other small seacraft were also advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels were alerted against big waves.
