THE Romeo Faunillan-led RCAF kept its unbeaten record intact after earning its fifth win in as many games by beating defending champion Grace Bostolits of Toly Petiluna, 101-97, last Sunday in the Upper Bayanihan Catholic Association (UBCA) Camp-2013 Second Season basketball tournament at the barangay Quiot Sports Complex.
Three-point artist Kuya Calvo and Joey Medina towed RCAF to a, 32-21 lead in the first quarter and the team maintained its double-digit lead in the 2nd and 3rd periods. But Grace Bostolits sizzled in the fourth with a, 30-23 run but failed to snatch the win.
Danrey Baclay and Kuya Calvo led RCAF with 17 and 16 points, respectively while Roger Quitoy and Jeff Francisco paced Grace Bostolits (1-3) with 29 and 19 points.
In the other game, ICC Pharmacy tripped Quiot, 108-101, for its 4th win in six games, while the latter fell to 1-3 win-loss.
Louie Villarin and Danny Dela Peña led the Pharmacians with 20 and 18 points, respectively while Barok Lasque added 17 markers.
Eddie Roma paced Quiot with 29 points while Abbs Fabrea added 20.
In the main game, the San Carlos Heights (SCH) dribblers bucked the absence of skipper Yoly Meso in beating UBCA Magic, 111-101, for its second win in four games.
Former SIT slotman Jun Sumargo and Charlie Sadorra paced SCH with 29 and 26 points, respectively, while Jessie Rudinas paced UBCA Magic with 34 points.
