The police would file Monday murder charges against six people believed to be involved in the killing of a businessman in San Juan City on Jan. 28.
Senior Superintendent Bernardo Tambaoan, San Juan police chief, said that the case would be filed against Reggie Guadayo and five John Does in the city prosecutor’s office.
Earlier, the police said that Guadayo and five unidentified men—the gunman, driver of the getaway vehicle and three lookouts whose appearance and actions were captured on a closed-circuit television camera—were behind the death of businessman Kelvin Tan over a “business-related” matter.
Tan, 34, was shot dead inside his vehicle near the Chinatrust Bank branch at the corner of Ortigas Avenue. The owner of KT Builders Inc. had just cashed a check for around P800,000 at the bank before he was killed.
Police have not recovered the money but several witnesses said the victim handed it over to Guadayo before he was shot.
This, however, was denied by Guadayo who told the police that he was the one who had handed around P200,000 to the victim before his death. He said he had loaned the money to Tan.
