Class 96 extends win streak
THE FIRST FAMILY Appliance Circle ’96 ramped its undefeated run to five games after it got past las Vegas KTV-M16 Disco ’94, 52-48, in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Friday night at the CEC gym.
Shaun Wang paced the squad with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds as they improved to a clean 5-0 (win-loss) record.
Rex Alinson also finished with 14 points, but Dreyfuss Ang made the biggest impact despite scoring only eight as he issued a season-best 11 assists and eight steals on top of five rebounds for Class ’96, which was in command of the match from start to finish.
Wellington Yu had in 16 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, while Stanley Gaw contributed 15 markers and eight boards but their efforts went for naught as Class ’94 dropped to 4-2.
In the other game, Mark Eugene Bukiron waxed hot with season-highs 36 points and 18 rebounds as Jepoy ’99 came back from a 15-point deficit to beat 3R Audio ’98 in overtime, 81-79.
Class ’99 now holds a 3-1 record, while Class’ 98 fell to 3-3. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
