Virgilio ‘Maton’ Silvano beat Louie Arlos via unanimous decision Friday night to retain his Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) light flyweight title at the Dalaguete Sports Complex.

Arlos established an early lead with his busy jab and lateral movement, but Silvano kept the pressure and eventually hurt Arlos in the middle rounds.

Arlos was at the receiving end of brutal head and body shots in the sixth to eighth rounds but still managed to stay on his feet. In the 9th round, Arlos regained the strength in his legs but Silvano continued his assault. In the tenth and final round, with the outcome hanging in the balance, they took turns landing punishing hooks. Silvano however, had the higher punch output in the endgame.
