ANS blanks CIE, keeps No.1 spot in boys 14

The boys 14 and boys 17 teams of the Abellana Nationa School (ANS) Pomeroy continued their climb to the top of the leaderboard as they lambasted their respective foes in yesterday’s action of the 15th Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

In the Boys 14, the ANS Pomeroy of coach Francis Ramirez solidified its hold of the top spot in bracket C with a 10-0 routing of Centre for International Education (CIE). The team now has nine points after having won all of its three matches so far.

In the Boys 17, ANS Pomeroy steadies itself at the second spot in bracket C with a 12-0 thrashing of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC)-B. It trails bracket leader Mandaue Technical Institute by three points after having won two of its three games so far.

The other match in the Boys 14 was won by Springdale B, which outsmarted the Magis Eagles, 3-1.

Also posting wins in the Boys 17 category were SHS-AdC, which benefited from the no-show of Springdale, 2-0, and Cebu International School (CIS), which routed DB Razkals, 12-0.

In the lone Girls 17 match, the University of San Carlos (USC) edged SHS-AdC, 1-0, to clinch the top spot in bracket A.

USC has nine points equivalent to a 3-0 (win-loss) record while the Magis Eagles stayed at the second spot with a 2-1 record.

In the Boys 12, VEPS inflicted a 10-0 demolition of CIE while Canduman and SHS-AdC ended their match in a scoreless draw.

In the Players 10, USC-BED was handed a win on a silver platter after CIE-B did not show up for their match. Other matches saw CIS blanking San Roque Football Club (SRFC), 2-0, Bright Academy streaking past Holy Infant, 4-1, and Ateneo-B routing Don Bosco-2, 3-0.

In the Players 8, another team that benefited from a default was SRFC-B against Don Bosco F. Bright Minds in Action Learning Village (BMALV) edged Springdale A, 2-1, Don Bosco 3 slipped past Warzhouckz, 1-0, and Don Bosco 4 annihilated Bright Academy, 12-0.
