MARY Joy Tabal edged former running queen Cristy Sevellino-Tutor in the 15-kilometer race of the 2nd University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USPF) Alumni Fun Run yesterday at the USPF Lahug campus.
Tabal took the women’s title with a time of one hour, four minutes and 44 seconds while Tutor finished second place with a time of one hour, 16 minutes and 26 seconds. Lapu-Lapu City pride Jhean Andrin was at close third, clocking 1:16.27.
In the men’s side, Davao city’s Joebert Carolino emerged victorious with a time of 52 minutes and 42 seconds while USPF’s Prince Joey Lee won second place honors with a time of 53 minutes and 45 seconds. Michael Largo rounded off the top three with a time of 54:44.
USPF’s Joel Delposo also showed his prowess in the 10k category by crossing the finish line first with a time of 35:18.
Jhean Andrin’s younger sister, Lovely Fe, won the female 10k race with a time of 46:04.
The youngest of the Andrins, Cherry, claimed the top spot in the 5k race with a time of 20:23 while Kenyan Francis Kakui topped the men’s side with a time of 17:20.
