Lapu-Lapu slay suspect falls

A 19-YEAR-OLD criminology student tagged as a suspect in the killing of the driver of Lapu-Lapu City Rep. Arturo Radaza was arrested by police in barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu City.

Jerry Sereno Jr. was cornered by police near his house in sitio Mahayahay last Wednesday afternoon.

Sereno was accused as one of the three men who shot dead Francisco Alicer last July 11, 2012.

Alicer was driving a motorcycle with his wife when a motorcycle with three men on board drove beside them.

One of the backriders grabbed the woman’s bag. When the woman refused to let go of the bag, one of the backriders shot Alicer before they drove off.

Regional Trial Court Judge Victor Teves of Branch 54 issued an arrest warrant against Sereno last Sept. 28, 2012.

Police said a. loaded 45 caliber pistol was recovered from the suspect during the arrest./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
