Police uproot marijuana plants in Sudlon 2

FULLY grown marijuana plants were uprooted in barangay Sudlon II, Cebu City Wednesday morning.

Police said 120 marijuana stalks were valued at least P15,000.

Operatives of the Cebu City Public Safety Company and barangay tanods rushed to sitio Balisong after receiving a report about the presence of a marijuana plantation.

Insp. Vincent Zozobrado said they started uprooting the marijuana plants at 7:30 a.m. and ended at noon.

Zozobrado said they had a hard time reaching the plantation since the place was steep.

No one was arrested during the operation.

The plantation was between three and five kilometers from the main road.

Zozobrado said the plantation was about 300 meters from the place where 246 marijuana plants worth P30,000 were uprooted on Jan. 26.

According to the City Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (Caidsot), each marijuana stalk is worth P125, while each marijuana plant is worth P200./Correspondent Tweeny M. Malinao
