Arrested gun ban violators reach 635

MANILA, Philippines—The number of people arrested for violating the Commission on Election’s gun ban rule has reached 635, a Philippine National Police record showed.

The PNP said that 43 new arrests were made, adding to the 592 people arrested as of Thursday.

Among the apprehended individuals were 569 civilians, 41 security guards, 11 police officers, two military officers, and a member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit.

Meanwhile, 557 assorted firearms were seized along with 3,537 ammunitions.

Apart from these, 168 bladed weapons and 20 grenades were also confiscated.
