MANILA, Philippines–Four people were injured following a collision of several vehicles in Pasig City before dawn Friday, a city traffic investigator said.
Police Officer 3 Edwin Cruz said nine vehicles–three jeepneys, two mini dump trucks, two Isuzu Crosswind SUV’s, an Elf dropside truck and a taxi–figured in a chain collision along Ortigas Avenue corner IPI road in Barangay (village) Ugong in Pasig City around 3:15 a.m.
Truck driver Christopher Apoya, 23 allegedly lost control of his vehicle due to failed brakes, causing it to hit the other vehicles.
“Dito na niya nabangga yung sasakyan sa harap niya na nag cause ng chain collision,” he said, but added that the driver of the taxi decided not to file charges anymore as his car suffered only minor damages.
Four people sustained injuries from the impact, but only two remained at the Rizal Medical Center for treatment.
