Woman, BF, pal thwart snatchers on bike

TWO ROBBERY suspects landed in jail after a foiled attempt to snatch a bag from a woman in Pasay City late Tuesday night. PO3 Melvin Garcia of the Pasay police said the intended victim, Angelica Brocka, put up a fight when Adonis Durante and Marty Nañez, then on a black motorcycle, tried to grab her bag as she was walking along Buendia with two male companions. Brocka and her boyfriend Michael Calaam were able get hold of Durante and forced him off the bike, while their friend Joshua Ricolo Gomez hurled a rock at Nañez before the latter could pull out a gun.

Durante was turned over to the Pasay police while Nañez, who managed to flee on the bike that night, was arrested the following day at his house on Kamalunggay Street, Western Bicutan, Taguig City. Noli A. Ermitanio
