Work begins on new road links to NLEx
In three years’ time, travelling north of the metropolis may be easier with the completion of new roads linking North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) with MacArthur Highway in Valenzuela City and with C-3 Road in Caloocan and Navotas.
The Manila North Tollways Corp. held groundbreaking rites on Thursday for Harbor Link, which is designed to provide quicker access to NLEx.
The 2.1-km Segment 9 will connect the NLEx Cloverleaf with McArthur Highway while the 5.6-km Segment 10 will connect the McArthur Interchange with C-3 Road.
Both are expected to be completed in three years, according to the project’s media officer Kiko Dagohoy.
Upon completion of Segment 9, traffic congestion is expected to be reduced at the NLEx-Valenzuela Interchange and on the stretch between Edsa-Balintawak and Edsa-Cubao in Quezon City.
Dagohoy added that motorists going to Port Area can also take Segment 10 instead of passing through Manila.
