MANILA, Philippines—Justice Secretary Leila De Lima has already submitted to the Office of the President the report of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on the Atimonan shooting incident.
“I already submitted to the Office of the President the NBI report on the Atimonan incident,” De Lima said in a text message Thursday.
The report which is more than two inches thick contains the findings of the NBI, the sole agency designated by President Benigno Aquino III to solely conduct an investigation on the Jan. 6 incident that led to the death of 13 people including police officers, soldiers and an environmentalist.
De Lima said Aquino will review the findings of the NBI. The President will, in turn give the clearance on when it will be released to the public.
