FARMER KILLED

A 62-YEAR-OLD farmer was found dead in his home in Sirao, a mountain barangay in Cebu City.

Gabriel Archival Jr. was found with three gunshot wounds in the body.

SPO2 Ruth Violango said the victim was eating in the kitchen when he was shot yesterday morning.

Police said no one came forward to describe what happened.

Police invited the victim’s brother, Romeo, to the police station due to reports that he had differences with his brother.

Romeo told police that he had nothing to do with the crime. He refused to undergo a paraffin test to determine if he had fired a gun.

Violango said the brothers were at odds after Gabriel occupied a stall previously rented by Romeo.

MAN NABBED FOR DRUGS

A MAN accused of being a drug pusher was arrested in barangay Cabulihan, Toledo town, southern Cebu.

Necipuro Baklaan, 43, was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) after he allegedly sold a pack of suspected shabu worth P1,000 to a poseur buyer last Monday afternoon.

A notebook containing the suspect’s alleged illegal drug transaction was recovered from him.

The PDEA said Baklaan is a level two drug pusher who can sell more than 200 grams of shabu a week.

Baklaan was charged of violation of section 5 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In Danao City, northern Cebu, a tricycle driver and a welder were arrested for possessing illegal drug paraphernalia.

Vincent Cambay, 30, and Nazareno Into, 32, yielded an improvised tooter with traces of shabu, two disposable lighters, a strip of tin foil and two hand-rolled tissue paper.

Police caught the two while they were patrolling Juan Luna Street in barangay Looc on Tuesday night.

In barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town, a man was arrested by barangay tanods with an unlicensed gun, an icepick and packs of suspected shabu.

Edgar Villamor is facing charges for violation of the election gun ban, illegal possession of a firearm, concealing of a deadly weapon and possession of illegal drugs.

Police said patrolling tanods spotted Villamor walking along a road at dawn Tuesday with something bulging in his waist.

Among the seized items were a .38 caliber revolver wand two packs of suspected shabu.

Villamor was detained at the Consolacion police station.
