Prior to finalizing things, Gonzales said he still has to discuss the contract and requirements with city administrator Teodulo Ybanez and tourism chief Hembler Mendoza.
Among the things they will discuss will be the hosting of the carboloading for 2,200 athletes, which will now be done in Lapu-Lapu. Last year, it was done at the Cebu International Convention Center.
Other things that SEI has asked of the city are manpower support before and during the event, medical, traffic, police, city veterinarian and cheerers.
Gonzales said they will endorse the outcome of their meeting for Mayor Radaza’s approval before inking the contract with SEI.
Last year, the race that took participants from Lapu-Lapu to Mandaue, through Cebu onwards to Talisay and back. The event gathered 1,400 participants.
