Girl killed in Munti fire

A THREE-year-old girl died after she was trapped inside a burning house in Muntinlupa City on Tuesday afternoon.  The fire which killed Shandara Araos also injured three other people, destroyed around 20 houses, left at least 30 families homeless and damaged P700,000 worth of property, according to city fire marshal Chief Insp. Roderick Aguto. In a report, FO1 Arnel Autencio said that Araos was playing with her five-year-old brother inside their house on West Service Road, West Kabulusan I-A when the fire started at 2:42 p.m. The children’s uncle, Oscar Villantes, took Araos’ brother out of the house but when he came back for the victim, he found himself unable to get inside the house because the flames had already spread.
