Tie the knot and win a house and lot.
Live-in couples in Makati City who have been together for more than five years can get the chance to own the house of their dreams if they join Pag-Ibig Fund’s mass wedding on Valentine’s Day.
But first, one of them must become a Pag-Ibig member.
Under its “I Do. I Do. Araw ng Pag-Ibig (Love Day)” project, the government agency will sponsor on Feb. 14 a mass wedding for live-in partners at the Makati Coliseum. And as icing on the (wedding) cake, participants will have a chance to win a brand new house and lot.
Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin S. Binay, who will be officiating the mass wedding ceremony, urged couples who have yet to join Pag-Ibig to immediately become a member.
Those interested can apply at the Makati civil registry office at city hall. A P100 registration fee will be charged per applicant.
According to Binay, the “innovative and strategic” project not only helps live-in couples legalize their union, it also educates them toward establishing financial security for their families.
Meanwhile, those who want to join the mass wedding can register at the Makati civil registration office until Feb. 9. They should bring an affidavit that they live together, a community tax certificate, certificate of no marriage, birth certificate, valid identification cards and barangay certificate. For more information, they can call Remy Carreon at 8701329 or Josephine Copada at 8701305 or 8701342.
