NBI’s focus: Cybercrime, trafficking, drug cases
Officials of the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI-7) yesterday paid a courtesy call on Cebu Acting Gov. Agnes Magpale.
Newly appointed NBI-7 Regional Director Antonio Pagatpat and his predecessor Edward Villarta also met with Acting Vice Gov. Julian Daan.
“We look forward to working with you,” Pagatpat told Magpale.
Pagatpat said the NBI-7 will prioritize cases on cyber crimes, child exploitation, human trafficking, illegal drugs and corruption.
If she gets re-elected in May as vice governor, Magpale said she intends to lead the committee on women and children in the Cebu Provincial Board.
Magpale was active in the campaign against child and women abuse as head of the Provincial Women’s Commission, and authored the ordinance establishing the Women Development Code of Cebu.
