THE FIRST FAMILY Appliance ’96 kept its pedal to the metal as it won its fourth straight game with a 62-54 whooping of the Argentina Corned Beef ’84/87/90 in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Sunday at the CEC gym.
Franklin Ong and Dreyfuss Ang starred for class ’96 in the win as the former scored 16 points while the latter dished out 11 assists. Rogelio Donayre also was a key cog in the win with 10 points, four assists and three steals.
Donayre and Ang were instrumental in their second half uprising that saw them climb back from a 21-25 deficit at halftime. They led 38-37 heading to the final canto and there, outhustled their opponents, 24-17 to snatch the win.
In the other game, former Cebu Doctor’s College star Wellington Yu had 15 points and hauled 16 boards as Las Vegas KTV-M16 Disco ’94 demolished Young Builders ’91, 51-31, for its third win in four games. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
