Man found dead in Sibonga
A 74-YEAR-OLD man was found dead in barangay Bagacay, Sibonga town, southern Cebu.
Generoso dela Torre was found suspended from a tree with a nylon rope tied around his neck.
The body was discovered by a neighbor who happened to pass by the area past 9 p.m. Saturday.
A note believed to have been written by Dela Torre was found in his pocket.
The note reads: “Pasayloa ako ninyo. Wala ko tuyua ang maong sala. Salamat Nating sa imong pagbantay nako (Forgive me for what I’ve done. I didn’t do it in purpose. Thank you Nating for taking care of me)”.
Nating is the victim’s wife, police said.
