‘Gun peddler’ nabbed
A MAN allegedly involved in selling unlicensed firearms was arrested by police in barangay Tuburan, Danao City, northern Cebu.
Several firearms were seized from the house of Lolito Mongas, 47.
The raid was conducted yesterday morning by operatives of the Criminal Investigation Detective Unit (CIDU) in Cebu province.
A search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Teresita Galanida of Branch 56 in Mandaue City.
Among those seized were two 9mm caliber pistols, a .22 revolver, a .38 caliber revolver, various magazines and ammunition and several marijuana sticks.
Senior Supt. Eddie Binigay, the newly installed chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7), said Mongas got his supply of firearms from illegal manufacturers.
