OZAMIZ CITY, Philippines—Continued heavy rains early Wednesday flooded Ozamiz City, prompting the local government to suspend classes.
As of 9 a.m., the entire urban center and outlying villages were submerged in water up to as high as knee-deep. No casualties have been reported.
Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez called off classes in private and public elementary and secondary schools as concerns were raised about the safety of school children.
