Bong Revilla on offer to be Lakas standard-bearer: ‘I’ll study it’

MANILA, Philippines – Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. said he was undecided yet whether or not to run for president in 2016.

But Revilla, president of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats, said he would prepare for it in case his group decides to make him the standard-bearer.

“Siyempre too early para pag-usapan, dito muna tayo sa trabaho natin,” he told reporters on Wednesday.

But asked if he was ready to be Lakas standard-bearer, Revilla said, “Paghahandaan.  I cannot say that I am ready but paghahandaan natin.”

“Pag-aaralang mabuti, ang nakataya dito sambayanan. So ‘pag pumasok ako, ibig sabihin handa ako,” he said.

When pressed if he was ready to face the Liberal Party’s bet, Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II,  Revilla said, “As I said hindi pa naman ako nakakapagdesisyon. Pinag aaralan nating mabuti, sabi ko nga paghahandaan ko yan.”
