Council approves 2013 investment plan

THE P222 million annual investment plan (AIP) for Cebu City was approved by the Cebu City Development Council (CDC) in a special meeting yesterday.

Engr. Oscar Abordo of the City Planning and Development Office told CDC members said the AIP only included projects proposals from 30 of the city’s 80 barangays.

The P222 million will fund road widening, road improvement, soil protection and financial assistance.

Councilor Jose Daluz III said the other 50 barangays need to liquidate their remaining 2012 financial assistance to avail of this year’s aid.

Abordo asked barangays captains during the CDC meeting to prepare their project proposals ahead of the June 24 deadline required by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) directive.

In order to correct delays, barangays will have to submit their 2014 project proposal on or before April 26. /Chief of Reporters Doris C. Bongcac
