Trike driver slain in SUV

/ 12:58 AM January 30, 2013

A tricycle driver was killed inside a sport utility vehicle on Monday afternoon in Quezon City. Noel Abenir, 34, died inside the Honda CRV parked on P. Tuazon Boulevard near the Chocolate Lover store due to a single stab wound in the chest.

Case investigator PO2 Dennis Llapitan said the victim, a resident of Deparo, Caloocan City, was last seen with three men whom he was supposed to go gambling with at a casino.

Abenir died around 3:15 p.m. following a heated argument with the man who drove the SUV. Llapitan said the Honda CRV was registered in the name of a man who told the police that his boyfriend often drove the vehicle.

The SUV owner is now considered a suspect in the victim’s death after witnesses said the two had argued before Abenir was killed.—Julie M. Aurelio
