MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Fire Protection conducted surprise inspections on two bars and night clubs along Tomas Morato in Quezon City on Monday evening, according to a report on Radyo Inquirer 990AM Tuesday.
Quoting Fire Superintendent Samuel Terreo, BFP deputy chief for operations, the report said the two unnamed establishments were found to have ineffective emergency lights and had blocked fire exits.
The authorities looked at the fire exits, electric outlets and available fire extinguishers, the report said.
Senior Superintendent Baguio Baruello, BFP-NCR deputy district director, promised to have more surprise inspections to ensure the safety of similar establishments and their customers.
