MANILA, Philippines – A businessman who withdrew around P800,000 was shot dead in San Juan Monday morning.
Senior Supt. Bernardo Tambaoan, officer in charge of the local police, identified the victim as Sheldon Tan, 34.
Tambaoan said Tan withdrew around P800,000 from Chinabank on Ortigas Ave. at the corner of Madison St. between 10:30 and 10:45 a.m.
As soon as he boarded his car, Tambaoan said a man approached his vehicle and fired at him.
Tan was dead on the spot.
The gunman, meanwhile, fled with his alleged cohort on board a motorcycle that had been parked nearby.
Five empty shells of a still-undetermined caliber were recovered from the scene. With Jamie Elona
