6 dead, 7 hurt in Benguet road mishap – NDRRMC

MANILA, Philippines – Six were killed and seven were injured in a road accident in Benguet early Sunday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.

A Hyundai Starex van with 13 people onboard, driven by Wilbert Galino, was on its way to Baguio City when it fell in a ravine 300 meters deep in Atok town about at 2a.m..

The van was coming from Tadian, Mt. Province, the NDRRMC said.

The victims were brought to Atok General Hospital and Benguet General Hospital.

Declared dead upon arrival were Lawrence Bondad, Raquel Galino, Melanie Rondalis, Kyla Rondalis, Jynnahrie Galino and Claring Abalos.

Injured were Howard Rondalis, Elmer Galino, Panganiban Galino, Fevelyn Garcia, Fritzi Bondad, Wilbert Galino and Travish Galino, the NDRRMC said.
