‘CAUGHT IN THE ACT’
A 43-YEAR-OLD old man was allegedly caught by his wife having sex with a minor inside their house in barangay Looc, Mandaue City.
A complaint for concubinage was filed against the man and his alleged paramour before the Mandaue City Prosecutors’ Office last Friday. The two were detained at the Opao police station pending the issuance of commitment order for their transfer to the Mandaue City Jail.
The 42-year-old wife complained that she was a battered wife in their 12 years of marriage.
Last year, the wife said she decided to leave her husband, saying she could no longer bear the man’s attitude.
The wife returned to her hometown in Leyte and brought their children with her.
But before leaving, the couple made an agreement in front of barangay officials that the man would send financial support to them.
The wife said she went back to Mandaue on Friday to confront her husband why he stopped sending them money.
The wife said that when she and her son arrived in their house, she caught her husband having sex with a minor.
Using her cellphone, the wife said she took a video of what her husband and the woman were doing.
The wife then went to the Opao police station to report the incident.
Police arrested the husband and the woman, who claimed she was just 17 years old.
Police asked the woman to present her birth certificate so she could be turned over to social workers.
Police said the husband will be charged with child abuse if it will be proven that his partner is a minor.

MAN SHOT DEAD IN NAGA
A 46-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants in barangay Tuyan, Naga, southern Cebu.
Erwin Barcenas, A resident of Carcar City, sustained several gunshot wounds in different parts of the body. He died before reaching the hospital.
Police said Barcenas was on his way home on board a motorcycle driven by a friend when the attack happened past 10 p.m. Friday.
The victim’s friend, Jonathan Sagalili, a motorcycle with two men on board drove beside them before the backrider fired at them.
Sagalili said Barcenas fell of the motorcycle as he slowed down.
Police recovered five empty shells of a 9mm pistol from the crime scene.

COP HURT IN ‘SHOOTING’
A POLICEMAN was wounded after the service firearm of another policeman accidentally went off inside their office in barangay Don Andres Soriano, Toledo City.
PO2 Marciano Suarez Jr. was wounded in the left arm.
The incident happened Friday night inside the office of the Provincial Public Safety Company.
According to the investigation, PO1 Careby Clyde Alinsog, a 23-year-old field training policeman, was cleaning his .45 caliber pistol when the gun went off.
The bullet hit the floor but it ricocheted and hit Suarez, SPO1 Jerson Libumfacil, desk officer of Toledo City police statio, said.
Suarez was rushed to Carmen Copper Hospital. He was later transferred to the South General Hospital in Naga City.
