/ 06:57 AM January 27, 2013

On an unusually cool racing day, the visiting Danish riders displayed scorching form and swept the top three places in yesterday’s first heat of the “Kopiko Astig 3-in-1 Supercross Series 2013” at the South Road Properties (SRP).

Local riders who were initially looking forward to an even match against their Danish rivals were stunned by the blinding speed of the visitors as Nikolai Larsen, Matias Gapgensen and Sebastian Kergo finished 1-2-3 in the premier International category.

The Danish champions outlasted top Cebuano rider John Eleazar Adlawan and Manila’s multi-awarded racer Juvy Saulog.

However, the race is not yet over for our very own riders in the International category as the last two heats including the final one will still be completed today.

For race director Edsel Odulio of Man and Machine Racing Promotions, today’s expected hot weather is eyed to give the Danish riders a hard time and open the door somehow for the locals to mount a serious challenge especially for Adlawan and the rest of the local expert riders.

“It’s not over yet for them  because there are still races tomorrow (today) including the Expert and Pro categories, but we are very amazed of what the Danish riders showed today (yesterday) and we thank them for entertaining everyone with their superb riding skills,” declared Odulio.
