Gomora scores 8 goals as ANS rips South Hills

John Gomora scored eight goals leading the Abellana National School (ANS) Pomeroy to a, 17-0 win over South Hills in yesterday’s resumption of the 15th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Aside from Gomora contributing two goals each for ANS-Pomeroy were Mailkevin Delantes and Jake Ramos. The rest of the team’s goals were scored by Pedro Diao, Kennedy Cuizon, Rogelio Castellon, Patrick Polistico and Michael Ruete.

The win allowed ANS-Pomeroy to take over the second spot in bracket C of the Boys 17 category, relegating idle Ateneo de Cebu (AdC)-B to third place by virtue of a 15-point goal difference. Both teams has three points.

In bracket B, Blessed John finally tallied a win with a 2-0 blanking of Springdale while in bracket A, Don Bosco debuted with a, 6-1 win against University of San Carlos Basic Education (USC-BED).

In the distaff side, bracket B leader St. Theresa’s College (STC) stayed on top after stretching its points to nine with a 2-0 win over South Hills while San Roque Football Club (SRFC) demolished Bright Academy, 10-1.

In bracket A, Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion (CIC)-Mandaue outsmarted Cebu International School (CIS), 3-0.

In the Boys 14, Don Bosco 2 dumped Springdale B, 17-0 but its sister team Don Bosco 1, suffered a, 0-2 loss to Springdale A. SJS-M beat  Bright Academy, 5-3.

In the Boys 12, Don Bosco 1, Canduman, Giuseppe and Bright Academy all won.

Don Bosco 1 thrashed VEPS, 18-0; Canduman blanked Don Bosco 3, 4-0; Giuseppe routed Don Bosco 2, 5-0; and Bright Academy beat CIS, 4-1.

The match between SRP FC and Dinamo ended in a 2-all draw.

Winner in the Players 10 was Canduman which dominated Children’s Paradise Montessori School, 10-0 while in the Players 8, Don Bosco 3 blanked sister team Don Bosco 1, 10-0.

The tournament will continue today with the championship between Innodata and Enrich Raphael for the Inter-BPO/Company title.
