THE Philippine Under 14 football team otherwise known as the Little Azkals again dominated Korean-based Chelsea FC, 7-2, in their second and final match yesterday at the Turf Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City.

Cagayan de Oro’s Jeremiah “JB” Borlongan came close to scoring another hattrick as he found the back of the net twice in the 47th and 50th minutes while Cebu City’s Vincent “Ngitz” Lovitos also had two goals in the 10th and 26th minutes.

The rest of the Little Azkals’ goals were scored by Davao’s Javier Romero-Salas (28th), Manila’s Ray Vincent Sanciangco (42nd) and Dumaguete’s Jose Anton Yared.

Unlike in their match last Friday, head coach Oliver “Bingbing” Colina said that they made some adjustments by making combinations and set plays on the left flank, transfer the ball to the middle and attack from the right.

This because Colina said the pitch was smaller than the one at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Despite having dominated their two matches, Colina said playing against a Korean team was still a good exposure for the Little Azkals.

“Korea is one of the top teams in Asia so it’s good that the team was able to play against a team coming from there,” Colina said.

Up next for the Little Azkals is the Thirsty Cup in Cebu City next month where they are the defending Boys 14 champion.  /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
