CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama is still awaiting word from the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) on their reported plan to kick off the 2013 election campaign in Cebu City on Feb. 12, but he said however that they are ready to host the opposition coalition.
But for the Liberal Party’s mayoralty bet, south district Rep. Tomas Osmeña, UNA’s allies in Cebu may not be able to muster a huge crowd.
“Just remember that measly crowd that Gwen and Rama could muster in front of the Capitol (for the suspended governor’s prayer rally),” he said in a text message to Cebu Daily News.
But Rama said it is not a problem with him organizing a grand political rally as “I am used to mobilizing people.”
He added, he is having his own proclamation rally to kick off his reelection drive in the City Hall. The campaign for local positions official starts on March 29.
For Osmeña, if LP Cebu decides to come up with a proclamation rally, they could always do it anytime, he said.
“No need to plan now. It only takes a week to plan and mobilize a launching,” said Osmeña./with Correspondent Edison de los Angeles
