SOME OF THE BEST motocross riders will show off their skills when the first leg of the Kopiko Astig 3-in-1 Supercross Series 2013 gets underway this weekend at the South Road Properties (SRP).
A total of 50 teams composed of professional racers from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will compete for supremacy and showcase their wares against visiting participants from Denmark, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand in a one-of-a-kind, obstacle-filled race track.
Organizers from the Man and Machine Racing Promotions are excited with the kickoff leg of the 12-stage supercross series that aims to reunite the motocross community in the country.
“We have not seen a race like this being organized for the past years,” said Man and Machine Racing Promotions Marketing Manager Bill Velasco in yesterday’s launching at the SCOOP Forum at the Baseline Recreation Center. “We thank Kopiko for its strong commitment to the sport of motocross because this will help revive motocross in the country.”
Joining Velasco yesterday were Kopiko’s Teddy Montejo, race director Edsel Odulio, Man and Machine Racing Promotions operations manager Jake Alcordo and some members of the organizing committee.
Montejo also manages Kopiko’s team composed of Cebuano motocross hot shot John Eleazar Adlawan and Juvenile Abellar.
Among the top contenders include Manila’s best composed of Buboy Fernandez’s riders from Team Pacquiao and the multi-awarded Glenn Aguilar./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
