CALAUAN, Laguna, Philippines — Cagayan Representative Jack Enrile on Thursday dismissed rumors that he has dropped his bid for a senatorial seat in 2013.
In a statement, he maintained that he has not withdrawn from the senatorial race nor has he contemplated such an idea.

“It has come to my attention that some misguided minds have been poisoning the social media through tweets and misleading news about my so-called withdrawal. This is simply not true. I have no reason to withdraw when the race has not even started,” he said.

The Cagayan legislator said that this rumor has motivated him to “see this electoral exercise to its very end. Win or lose.”
