On Monday, democracy icon Cory Aquino’s second death anniversary, I received a text message from former Commissioner Mar General of the National Police Commission (Napolcom).
For all its worth, I hope the text message that I’m reprinting here reaches Cory’s only son, President Noy.
General was an honest government official, a conclusion I reached after talking with his former colleagues and subordinates at the Napolcom and at the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
All he wants is for him to be given justice for his unceremonious sacking at the Napolcom.
Here’s his text message:
“Gud pm Mon. Cory’s 2nd death anniversary today reminds me of the reason why i was terminated at Napolcom. I placed a yellow ribbon on my office door as my personal show of condolences to her family. However, (Napolcom Vice Chair Ed) Escueta and (Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary and Napolcom Chair Ronnie) Puno used it to recommend my ouster as they can’t inform gma (Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo) that I was investigating a couple of irregularities at Napolcom. I know this as (Budget Secretary Nonoy) Andaya warned me about Puno’s report, with pictures of my office door, to gma. It’s so unfortunate that despite what I did for the service, I was replaced and till now still seeking justice from the present administration that I fully supported.”

Here’s my own message to Mar General:
Mar, don’t expect anything from P-Noy because even if you’re as clean as driven snow, you don’t belong to his KKK [kabarilan, kaklase at kaibigan].
Even if one is incompetent and corrupt, as long as he is the President’s shooting buddy, former classmate or friend, his security of tenure is amply protected.
His father, democracy martyr former Sen. Ninoy Aquino, must be turning in his grave because of his son’s mismanagement of the country.

Is it true that if you want to have any transaction with the government concerning housing, you have to pass through a guy who is known by the moniker “Putol?” He is allegedly very close to P-Noy.

A local government official is asking the Court of Appeals to issue a temporary restraining order (TRO) against a suspension order that will surely come out after his anti-graft case is filed in the Sandiganbayan.
The Office of the Ombudsman has resolved the corruption case and will soon file it in the antigraft court.
The local official was allegedly offering P15 million for a TRO in his favor.
The justices in whose division the TRO is expected to be filed have reportedly rejected the offer because they want thrice the amount offered, or P45 million!
