Alcoy road mishap kills 1, injures 3

A third passenger vehicle figured in deadly road accident in Cebu in a week.

This time, one was killed and three were injured in barangay Pasol, Alcoy in southern Cebu.

The fatality, Alvin Legaspi was on board a Honda Civic sedan that was rammed by a Ceres Bus Liner past 7 a.m. yesterday.

The car driver Emmanuel Nabarrete, and passengers Gerome Carungay and Romel Rodriguez also suffered head injuries.

The Ceres Bus Liner with plate number GWK 142 was maneuvering a downhill curve heading to Cebu City when it collided with the Honda Civic, according to Alcoy police investigator PO2 Leon Gesim,

The bus driver, Anthony Oraga, 36, is currently detained at the police station.

The franchise of the Ceres bus and two other units under franchis number 07-0086 will be suspended as part of routine procedure after an accident, said Regional Director Ahmend Cuizon of the Land Transporation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Region 7 (LTFRB 7).

Last Friday, two female passengers were killed while 16 others were injured when a jeepney rammed a trailer truck in barangay Magdugo, Toledo City.

In Wednesday last week, a prime mover truck loaded with a bulldozer rammed a BT Bus liner killing ten persons, and injuring at least 50 others in barangay Uling, Naga City.

The three accidents from Wednesday last week to last Tuesday claimed 3 lives and injur—ed 69 persons.
