Nat’l triathlon coach to hold 3-day camp

TRIATHLETE wannabes will get a chance to train under a national triathlon coach in the three-day TRI Camp slated from March 24 to 26 at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) in Mandaue City.

Aside from being a national coach, Melvin Fausto is also an International Triathlon Union (ITU) Level 2 coach as well as a member of the Asian Triathlon Confederation coaching committee.

Participants will be learning skills, techniques and rules of triathlon racing such as buckling the helmet before touching the bike in the transition from swimming to biking, mounting and dismounting and drafting.

The camp will end with a 350-meter swim, 15-kilometer bike and 3-km run.

Those interested are urged to register early before the Feb. 15 deadline and avail of the early bird fee of P1,500 for adults and P1,000 for kids. There will be 50 slots available for adults.

After Feb. 15, participants will have to pay the regular fee of P1,700 for adults and P1,200 for kids. The fee will include camp shirts, medals and recovery food. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
