Nationals rout Indons

THE SMART-GILAS Pilipinas took down the Indonesian national squad with relative ease as they blasted their opponents, 110-78, at the start of the 19th Super Kung Sheung Cup yesterday afternoon at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong.

The game was close after the first 10 minutes of play but the Nationals gained their rhythm and momentum and increased their lead with each passing period leading to the blowout win.

Garvo Lanete led the onslaught with 21 points while Air21 gunner KG Canaleta added 17 markers.

Global Port’s Gary David, who joined the squad for this tournament after missing the Dubai competition, had 14 markers.

This is the same tournament that the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) All-Stars joined and finished in second place several years ago./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
