Low pressure area spotted in GenSan

MANILA, Philippines – A new low pressure area was spotted in General Santos City Tuesday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.

As of 4 p.m., the LPA was plotted 360 kilometers southeast of General Santos City, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

“The regions of Caraga, Davao and Soccsksargen will experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides,” it said.

The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate rainshowers or thunderstorms.

The northeast monsoon, meanwhile, prevailed in Luzon and Visayas.

“Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will be cloudy with light rains,” it added.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies with brief light rains.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough, Pagasa said.
