Delta strengthens hold of lead

TEAM Delta strengthened its hold of the lead Friday night after beating Foxtrot, 106-96, in overtime for its sixth win in seven games in the Center Katipunan A. Lopez Christian Organization (CEKALCO)-2013 Second Season basketball tournament.

Delta led 23-18 in the opening period but Foxtrot sizzled in the 2nd stanza with a, 32-20 run to grab a, 50-43, lead at the half.

Delta waxed hot in the third with a 28-16 run for a, 71-66 advantage heading to the final quarter, but Foxtrot sent the game into overtime when it tied the count at 91-all at the end of regulation on Moises Craso’s undergoal stab.

In the extension period, Delta outscored Foxtrot, 15-5 to seal the 10-point demolition.

FEATURED STORIES

Juniel Villarosa and Author Acosta led Delta with 30 and 25 points, respectively while Erik Yee paced Foxtrot with a game-high 32 markers.

In the other game, Golf beat winless Alpha, 82-78, also in overtime for its fifth win in six games.

Joseph Mernado and Kit Arellano led Golf with 22 and 17 points, respectively while while Kenneth Beltran and Nolit Tabasa paced Alpha with 29 and 15, respectively
