MANILA, Philippines -Three people were reported dead and two others were missing from floods in Mindanao due to heavy rains spawned by the tail-end of a cold front, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Monday.
Executive Director Benito Ramos identified the three fatalities as Boyet Borres and Clyde Selgas from Misamis Oriental; and Glen Custodio from San Miguel village in Tagum City.
The two missing were identified as Ramon Ampong from Asuncion, Davao del Norte and John Michael Unson from El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental.
A report from the Office of Civil Defense Region XI Monday afternoon said 7,589 families or 27,063 persons were affected by floods in several municipalities in the provinces of Davao del Norte, ComVal, and some villages in Davao City.
