MANILA, Philippines — A young woman was killed after she fell off from a speeding motorcycle and got run over by an oncoming bus along Commonwealth Avenue early Monday in Quezon City.
Joanna Marie Magsanoc, 25, fell off from a motorcycle driven by her live-in partner Jerome Aglean, 26.
The traffic investigator, Senior Police Officer 1 Gary Talacay, said the woman did not have any safety helmet during the accident at around 5 a.m. on the southbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue at the corner of Peacock Street in Fairview.
Magsanoc and Aglean were on their way home to Doña Carmen in Barangay (village) Commonwealth after reportedly coming from a drinking spree in the vicinity of SM Fairview.
Talacay learned that Aglean was driving the motorcycle and lost control because of his alleged tipsiness, crashing into the rear of a Viofel bus (NYG-463).
Magsanoc got thrown off the motorcycle due to the impact and landed on the concrete.
A Safeway bus (TXT-839) was passing by and ran over Magsanoc, the right rear wheel crushing her head.
