MANILA, Philippines—A man was killed after he jumped down the Mindanao Avenue Extension underpass and was run over by a sports utility vehicle before dawn Monday in Quezon City.
The still unidentified victim only wore a green shirt and white briefs when found by watchmen from Barangay (village) Talipapa at around 1:30 a.m. on Monday.
Case investigator PO2 Rhic Pittong said the man died right at the underpass at the corner of Mindanao Avenue Extension and Quirino Highway due to skull fractures and broken ribs.
Before jumping to his death, the man was reportedly seen punching a concrete wall in the area.
Pittong described the victim to be of medium built, 5’4″ tall and between 30 and 35 years old.
The man allegedly jumped over the railings and into the tunnel, where he landed along the northbound lane of Mindanao Avenue.
An oncoming Mitsubishi Montero Sport, however, ran over the victim and sped away after hitting him.
A motorist who saw what happened reported the events to the Barangay Talipapa.
