MANILA, Philippines – Senator Panfilo Lacson has wished Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago to get well soon so he could file charges against her.

“She is currently sick. I wish for her to get well soon so I can already press charges against her,” Lacson told reporters Monday.

“Doctors have said that her condition was precarious; we don’t want to add to her illness,” Lacson said.

Santiago has given media copies of her letter requesting to go on sick leave.

“In obedience to doctors’ orders, I shall be on sick leave for hypertension and chronic bone marrow disorder starting today, 21 January 2013,” Santiago said in her letter.

“My sick leave shall continue until my blood pressure and my bone marrow disorder shall have stabilized,” she said.

Santiago had also earlier suffered a mild stroke after a media interview. A blood vessel in her eye had also ruptured after the interview.

“Let’s give her a break, she is sick,” Lacson said.
