Cloudy skies, rainshowers expected in parts of PH–Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines – Light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms will continue in Mindanao due to an intertropical convergence zone, the state weather bureau said Monday.

“Mindanao and Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Cagayan Valley, provinces of Aurora and Quezon and Bicol Region will be cloudy with light rains. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy skies with brief light rains,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

In a special forecast for Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley, light to moderate rains were said to continue until Wednesday.

Cold weather will also continue as northeast monsoon (hanging amihan) will prevail in Luzon.

Sunday’s coldest temperature in Metro Manila was at 19.8 degrees Celsius recorded at 5a.m., Pagasa said.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the eastern section of the country and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be moderate coming from the northeast with moderate seas, Pagasa said.
