Suspect in slay of bus conductor nabbed in QC
MANILA, Philippines—One of five suspects tagged in the killing of a bus conductor early this month was arrested in Quezon City Thursday evening after he was allegedly heard “bragging” about the shooting incident, police said Friday.
National Capital Region Police Office chief, Director Leonardo Espina, identified the arrested suspect as Michael “Boy Tisoy” Cudiamat, 34, who was said to be among those who allegedly gunned down Mayamy Bus conductor Ronnel Monter on January 4 along Commonwealth, in Quezon City.
He said Cudiamat was arrested in Barangay (village) Commonwealth, Quezon City around 8 p.m., Thursday after “days of painstaking operational research, analysis and surveillance.”
Cudiamat was found in possession of a caliber .45 pistol tucked in his waist during the arrest, Espina said.
“Among other [pieces of] evidence, [Cudiamat] was overheard bragging to his friends about the Mayamy bus incident,” Espina said.
The case was placed for further investigation for the possible arrest of other suspects.
