MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police received Friday 200 two-stroke motorcycles that will be used to boost the mobility and visibility of police units, especially in secluded areas.

The P9-million worth of motorcycles donated by Norkis Philippines were installed with the Hydroplus System, an advanced hydrogen fuel blending technology for motorized vehicles that improves fuel efficiency and reduces emission levels.

Norkis Philippines President Luis Quisumbing said that emission test results of the motorcycles showed that the Hydroplus technology brought down emission to levels not only well with the prescribed standards in the Clean Air Act, but definitely way below those marks.”

For her part, Director Lina Sarmiento of the Directorate for Police Community Relations said these motorcycles will be distributed based on the current mobility profile of police stations, including the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

“Priority ang mga munisipalidad na walang walang sasakyan (Municipalities without vehicles will be given priority),” she said.
