Fire hits slum area in Cainta, Rizal

MANILA, Philippines—Fire gutted a residential area in Rizal Thursday afternoon, a city fire officer said.

Fire Brigade radio operator Rey Reyes said the fire that hit a slum community in Westbank Floodway in San Andres, Cainta, Rizal started around 4:30 p.m.

A fifth alarm has been declared at 5:07 p.m., he said.

As of posting, at least eight fire trucks have responded to the alarm, apart from other trucks from nearby areas, Reyes said.
